The DIAGNOdent is a pen-like device that uses laser fluorescence to help us see cavities in your teeth. There is no x-ray exposure and allows for a more detailed look at the health of your teeth. The DIAGNOdent is an excellent tool to find early signs of lesions on the teeth. The earlier they are detected, the sooner we can remove the decay. When cavities are small we can save more of the natural tooth, keeping your smile healthy and strong.
Instead of sitting for goopy dental molds, we can now take digital impressions of your teeth. With a handheld camera we take images of your teeth and the result is a 3D picture we can measure and manipulate. Because we are working with images instead of physical molds it saves a lot of time. We can send images to labs instantly, so you get the help you need faster.
In order to provide precision care, 3D imaging is a must. We can see all the details in the images and manipulate them to show you what is happening and where we hope to improve. If you are interested in cosmetic procedures you may have a 3D image taken to help us see details and plan for veneers. It also helps us plan orthodontic treatments and more complex treatments like dental implant placement. The images go far beyond bone structure, we are able to see infections, nerves, musculature and more.
Digital x-rays save time. Years ago it took time to develop the x-ray film, now images go straight to the computer and we can view them and discuss in real-time. Diagnoses are faster and we get to view the x-rays together.
“I think so well of Dr. Collins and his practice. He’s a great dentist, and they have the latest technology. This is why I trusted him for a second opinion and am willing to drive 2 hours to get it.”

Handheld cameras allow us to view the hard to see areas of your mouth easily. We can also look at the images together, allowing for a more informed conversation. It helps the doctors better communicate with you so you can see what they see in real time. It also allows you to ask questions about what is happening in your mouth.
If you have periodontal issues our laser therapy might be a good fit. Lasers can target and accurately remove diseased tissue. It also helps support the regrowth of healthy tissue. There are several benefits of laser periodontal treatment, including:
You will be as comfortable as possible, even when you need a shot. Our painless injections are one of our favorite offerings to patients, and one of the best things for our patients. If the fear of injections keeps you from coming to the dentist, fear no more. We will surprise you with the difference we offer.
These are x-rays of the entire mouth and jaw in a single image. The images assist us in planning for orthodontics, implant services, dentures or extractions.
If you’ve ever felt your bite was off, you know it can be uncomfortable. We want to assure your bite is always comfortable and isn’t putting any dental work at risk — accepting too much of the bite load. We have technology in the office that helps us see how your bite force is distributing and make any needed adjustments to make sure your teeth stay healthy.
We carry all natural products from Dental Herb to assist patients who suffer from dry mouth. These all natural products help stimulate saliva flow and moisten the mouth. If you suffer from dry mouth, ask us about this all natural solution.
A staggering statistic. Early detection of oral cancer can improve chances of effective treatment. That’s why we provide oral cancer screenings at your appointments. A special light is used to detect abnormal tissue. It is fast and painless. If you have questions about oral cancer screening, don’t hesitate to ask.
If you’ve ever tried an electronic toothbrush you know how different your mouth feels vs. regular brushing. We love the plaque-busting power of Sonicare electric toothbrushes and have those on hand if you are interested it feeling the difference. For many patients an electric toothbrush motivates them to stick to a good oral hygiene routine easier than a regular brush.
For patients with braces or bridges, a water flosser can be a game changer. The stream of water can reach areas that regular flossing cant. The massaging elements of the water pulse can also help stimulate gum health. If you find it difficult to floss regularly, ask us about a Waterpik.
Up-to-date technology in the dental office makes the patient experience measurably better. It is like the difference between using a rotary phone and an iPhone. The advantages technology provide make us faster, more precise and ultimately get your oral health in top shape in less time more affordably.
“I was treated so well. The procedure was kept as comfortable as possible and I felt like a very valued patient.”
