Regular Dental Checkup
Regular dental checkups are an essential part of maintaining a healthy smile. It’s a critical part of your oral health and something we recommend to all of our patrons. Dental checkups should be completed every six months to maintain proper optimal health.
Regular Dental Checkups
When you come in for your dental checkup, we can examine your oral health closely and see how things have changed since your last visit. A regular dental checkup involves a variety of important procedures that are vital for maintaining good oral hygiene.
To start, we’ll do a comprehensive exam to get a general sense of the condition of your teeth and gums. We’ll check carefully for any cavities, decay, or signs of gum disease. Next, we’ll do a professional cleaning to remove any plaque, bacteria, or other buildup on your teeth and gumline. We use special dental tools to scrape away anything stuck to your teeth and gums. Then we polish everything to get rid of surface stains and leave your mouth feeling fresh and clean. We’ll also do a screening for oral cancer, inspecting your face, tongue, throat, gums and other soft tissues in your mouth for any abnormalities or warning signs.
In some cases, we may take digital X-rays to get a detailed view of your mouth’s structure and identify any hidden issues, such as decay between teeth, gum disease, bone loss, cysts, or cancer. We make sure these are quick and comfortable. We can review the X-rays together if needed.
